Gregory Allen


Gregory Allen was the Grand Prize winner of the 1980 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv. He also won the second prize at the 1978 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, and received top honors in the Los Angeles Young Musicians Foundation, the Gina Bachauer, as well as the Washington International Competitions.

 

Performing extensively, Mr. Allen's orchestral appearances have include those with the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Israel Philharmonics, in addition to the orchestras in San Francisco, San Diego, Baltimore, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. His major teachers and mentors have included John Perry, Jerome Lowenthal, and Leon Fleisher. Gregory Allen is currently Professor of Piano at The Sarah and Ernet Butler School of Music, University of Texas at Austin.
