Young Artists Program Application

Before clicking on the Application Form please read the following:

Application Procedures

All applications must be completed online.
Performers (born on or after June 1, 1989)
1. Application fee $100 (credit or debit card)           
Application fee is non-refundable and will not be applied to program fee or accommodation cost        
2. Audition Recording (only video recordings are acceptable)
Upload video recording online 
Must be recorded within the past 12 months         
Minimum 20 minutes in length
You may submit as many pieces as you wish, but must include a classical sonata or concerto (one movement is acceptable).
IMPORTANT: Please submit the highest quality video recording, as it will affect your chance of acceptance. 
3. Biography
Updated biography written in full sentences (please do not use a bullet format) including education, musical experiences and hobbies.
4. High-resolution publicity photo
Upload jpg, eps, tiff or psd (resolution at least 300 dpi)
5a. Repertoire for master classes and the concerto competition (winners will participate in a concerto master class with Leonard Slatkin)
If you intend to participate in the concerto competition, select one of the complete concertos from the concerto repertoire list.
Submit a minimum of three substantial works. The Executive Director will select two works from your list for your master classes. Concertos may be included as long as they are not used for the concerto competition.
5b. Repertoire for recitals:
Submit three to four works (including movements of larger works) that you are ready to perform in the recitals presented during the Festival.
Works submitted for master classes may be used for these recitals. However, each work for these recitals should not exceed 12-15  minutes.
6. Permission from your teacher to participate in PianoTexas  
Teacher’s email: We request that you have your teacher’s permission to participate.
While we rely on your honesty when you state in the application that you obtained permission, we retain the rights to contact your teacher.

Active and General Observers
Application fee $75 (credit or debit card)          
Application fee is non-refundable and will not be applied to program fee or housing cost
