Application Procedures:

All applications must be completed online.

Before starting the application, prepare the following:

Performers (Grades 1-12)

1. Application fee: $100 (payable by credit or debit card)

- Application fee is nonrefundable and will not be used toward the costs of tuition or accommodation.

2. Audition Recording (only video recordings are acceptable): upload online

- Good quality recording is strongly advised. An independent selection jury will decide on the invitation offered to performers.

-The recording should contain two contrasting pieces

- Portions of works may be used for example one movement of a sonata or concerto. If a concerto is selected for a master class, it will be scheduled after the concerto competition.

3. Biography:

- Updated biography in full sentences (please do not use bullet format) include education, profession, musical experiences and hobbies.

4. High-resolution photo: upload online

- jpg, eps, tiff or psd (at a resolution of at least 300 dpi).

5. List of Repertoire


If you intend to participate in the concerto competition, select one of the concertos (first movement or a combination movements not to exceed 18 minutes) from the concerto repertoire list on the program page.

Master Class:

Submit a minimum of two works; if possible, one of these should be by Ludwig van Beethoven or Frédéric Chopin. The Executive Director will select from your submitted list the repertoire for the master class.

Festival Concerts:

Submit repertoire to perform in the recitals presented by the Festival. Pieces submitted for master classes may be used for these recitals. However, the repertoire for these recitals should not exceed 12 minutes each.

6. Permission from your teacher to participate in PianoTexas  

We request that you have your teacher’s permission to participate; however, we rely on your honesty when you state in the application that you obtained this. Please provide the email address of your teacher.
