Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya
Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU
Rehearsal: Sunday, June 16 – 1:00 to 3:30 pm
The hands-on understanding of performing with an orchestra is important for teachers
who give advice on “the art of concerto playing” to their students. The experience
of performing with an orchestra is exhilarating and rewarding and PianoTexas is one
of the very few International Programs to feature teachers in a public concert with
a major professional orchestra. Whilst participation with a concerto is not mandatory, we
encourage teacher performers to take advantage of this rare opportunity. Memorization
is optional.
The beautiful Van Cliburn Concert Hall with its superb acoustics will be the home
of the Teachers/Amateurs Concerto Competition and Winners Concert.
On June 9 soloists to perform with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will be selected
through a competition with a second piano. Rehearsals will be arranged.

NEW FOR THE 2024 PIANOTEXAS:
Maestro Miguel Harth-Bedoya will give a presentation on the “Art of Concerto Performance”.
This is a superb opportunity to understand how a piano concerto is viewed from the
perspective of the conductor and how the soloist should prepare the totality of the
score.
